01 About the engineer

Dr. A. Arunkumar is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering with a strong blend of industrial and academic experience. He completed his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from E.G.S. Pillay Engineering College, affiliated with Bharathidasan University, and earned his M.E. in Engineering Design from Anjalai Ammal Mahalingam Engineering College under Anna University. He brings over nine years of core industrial experience in structural and pipeline projects, having worked with reputed organizations such as Muruga Agencies, Southern Railways, Larsen & Toubro Limited, and Lloyd Insulations India Pvt. Ltd. Transitioning to academia, he has been serving at E.G.S. Pillay Engineering College since 2015. Awarded a Ph.D. in 2022, he has published over ten research papers, authored two books, and his research interests include Robotics, Composite Materials, and Engineering Design. He is a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education and a reviewer for Springer journals.

He began his professional journey in the core mechanical industry, working for over nine years in structural and pipeline construction projects with reputed organisations including Muruga Agencies, Southern Railways, Larsen & Toubro Limited (ECC Division), and Lloyd Insulations India Pvt. Ltd. His industry exposure provided a strong practical foundation, which he later brought into academia.

Dr. Arunkumar transitioned to teaching as an Assistant Professor at Kings College of Engineering, Thanjavur, and has been serving at E.G.S. Pillay Engineering College, Nagapattinam, since 2015. He registered for his Ph.D. in 2017 and was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy in 2022.

He has published more than ten research papers in national and international journals and has authored two books in the areas of Research Methodology and Machine Learning Algorithms. His research interests include Robotics, Composite Materials, and Engineering Design. He is a Life Member of ISTE and contributes as a reviewer for reputed journals, including Springer publications.
